Lesson Notes
“Divine Providence” means provided by God.
As followers of Christ, we believe in truth that is self-evident.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
The universe declares God's existence, God's power, and that God is God.
God's word declares equality.
Romans 3:23; Romans 3:9-18; Galatians 3:28Jesus came to give us life.
John 10:10; Romans 6:23Jesus came to declare liberty.
Luke 4:16-21; John 8:31-36[Jesus speaking] “
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
”The Pursuit of Happiness?
There is a difference between happiness and joy.
Philippians 4:4; Galatians 5:22-23We have declared independence from sin and dependence on God and His Son, Jesus.
Romans 6:22-23We must continue to declare Jesus to world.
1 Peter 3:15-16; 1 Peter 2:9- Warning: Being a Christian isn’t safe and does not guarantee freedom
from bad times!
Becoming a Christian declares you free and guarantees you eternal life.
