Come and cheer for our men’s softball team as they begin their season.  The first game is on Thursday, September 9th at Tom Brown Park, field 2.   The game will begin at 6:31 pm.

Summer is over and school is in! That means it’s time for Fall Kick-Off!!! We’re kicking-off a new theme for Wednesday Night Youth Group at First Christian Chruch. Come join us on Wednesday night, September 8th, for out High Mountain Adventure Kick-off. We will be serving dinner at 6 pm from base camp, followed by our High Mountain Adventure at 6:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

At the end of the night, we’ll share a little about what will be happening this fall in Cubby Bears for 3-5 years, and Kindergarten, and in All*Stars for 1st – 5th grades. Grab your Bible and your friends, and join us for a great time at the High Mountain Adventure Kick-off!

We will be holding our annual picnic at the FSU Reservation on Saturday, October 9th from noon to 4 P.M.  The park closes at 7 P.M. We will have 3-legged races, sack races, some competitive  “Minute to Win It’ games. All ages are encouraged to come for the day or for an hour. Admission is $2 per adult, $1 per child, FSU students are admitted for free. Rock climbing is $3. There is free volleyball, ping pong, foosball, swimming etc.  Canoes are available to rent.

Bring hamburgers/hotdogs (and buns) for your family to throw on the grill and a side dish to share. We will have a grill master from noon to 2 pm.  A sign up list will be in the foyer mid-September.

All kids 2 years – 8th grade are invited for three exciting, adventure-filled evenings!! Each night is FREE and begins with dinner! Come join Splash as he steps into a palace, a lion’s den and a temple!

Sunday, July 25 – Tuesday, July 27, dinner will be served at 6 pm, and the program will be from 6:30 pm -8:45 pm.

Saturday, July 24 from 10 am to 1 pm.  Join us for Games and Crafts!  Don’t forget your bathing suit, you won’t want to miss out on Wild Splash!  Lunch will be provided!  Invite your friends!

The Praise Team will present Andrew Peterson’s Resurrection Letters on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the church. Please join us as we celebrate Easter musically! All are welcome to attend this free event.

The Women’s Ministry will be meeting for prayer, coffee, and an optional walk around Lake Ella on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 6:30 PM. They will be meeting at the Black Dog Café located at 229 Lake Ella Drive in Tallahassee. All women are invited!

Kylee Boden, the wife of former FSU CCF intern Matt Boden, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Kylee passed away due to complications of pregnancy with their fourth child. Caleb Boden survived the pregnancy, and is Matt and Kylee’s fourth child. Please pray for the Boden family as they mourn and as they adjust.

A Celebration of Kylee’s life will be hosted by First Christian Church of Fort Myers this afternoon (Sunday, March 2010) at 5:00 PM. The service will be streamed live on the internet for those unable to attend in person.

Riley Elementary School will be having a 2 week Intensive FCAT Training time from Feb. 22 through March 11.  4th and 5th grade students will be mentored for the FCAT 2 to 3 times per week.  Adults will have 1 and possibly 2 children, and materials will be provided.  There are 4 time slots available:  Before school 7:45 am – 8:25 am, lunch 11:20 – 12:30 pm, special are 2:00 – 2:45 pm, and after school 2:50 pm.  Anyone interested will need to complete a volunteer form.  Please contact Susan or Tammy if interested.

Friday January 15 is Game Night at First Christian Church.  It goes from 5:30 – 11 pm for babies up to and including the 5th grade.  This is a FREE event in order for parents to have a Date Night.
